Welcome to the Choctaw Gaming Commission Website!

The Choctaw Gaming Commission (CGC) is the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians’ (MBCI) Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority which oversees the MBCI’s gaming industry.   The information found on this site includes the Federal Legislation, the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, and the Tribal-State Compact for the Conduct of Class III Gaming.  It also provides CGC Regulations approved by Tribal Council via ordinances and resolutions.

This Commission regulates all activities related to all gaming conducted within the MBCI’s jurisdiction; enforcement of gaming laws, regulations, and ordinances; promulgate regulations and policy; conduct investigations and hearings, manage daily administrative functions; and meet with federal, state and local officials; investigate and license applicants, vendors, and gaming operations; conduct audits, and monitor  gaming operations for compliance.

The MBCI Gaming Commission is composed of three full-time Commissioners, a Commissioner Chair/Executive Director, and two Associate Commissioners.  Individuals are nominated by the Tribal Chief and confirmed by the Tribal Council.

Choctaw Gaming Commission is a regulatory agency; therefore, the Commission included of the following functions:

    • Administrative Staff – Conduct secretarial and clerical duties to maintain, and disseminate as needed, information collected, created, and investigated for reports to proper officials within the tribal government. Manages routine tasks while ensuring accuracy and transparency.
    • The Licensing Department – Responsible for the licensing or work permitting of all gaming and non-gaming individuals who have been offered employment or who conduct business with gaming operations.The Background and Investigation Department – Responsible for all background checks for suitability of applicants for gaming license/work permit, and for investigations as authorized by the Commission.
    • The Compliance Department – Conducts audits and reviews to monitor level of compliance by the operations regarding laws as defined by federal, state, and tribal laws and regulations. The Commission utilizes the Tribe’s Office of Internal Audit to conduct quarterly financial audits.
    • The Gaming Inspector Department – These staff members are our frontline people who actually are present on the gaming floor. The primary task for these individuals is to be active observers, reporting issues and concerns with the lack of or failure to follow regulations and internal control standards, escort money transfers, and verify software and new equipment being installed.
    • In order to perform its regulatory duties, the Commission has unrestricted access to all areas of the gaming operations and to all records. When appropriate, the CGC has authority to take enforcement actions against a gaming operation, and it may invoke suspension or revocation of an individual gaming license/work permit.

    • individuals who have been offered a position of employment at one of the gaming properties,
    • entities that do business with MBCI’s gaming operations, or
    • those who need to renew a gaming license/work permit.
